The Original BiggsFix Tuning Stabilizer that fits Bigsby models B5, B7 and B12. If you are experiencing too much down pressure and your string angle over the bridge is extreme, then adding the original BiggsFix results in your string angle more closely matching that of Bigsby’s non-tension roller vibrato systems. Please note that the Original Biggsfix is not recommended for Telecaster. The way Tele’s are designed, there will not be enough tension between the strings and tension roller. Also, “Original”Biggsfix is not recommended when using with a Vibramate on Les Pauls, I have found that it raises the Bigsby just a little too much for the new roller position to apply proper tension – Remember, some downward pressure is required on the strings. There are many happy customers, however, that have used Biggsfix with Vibramate on SG’s. For those with Telecasters and LP’s with Vibramate, consider replacing your existing roller with one of my Sealed Bearing replacement rollers.
BTS5712 is not recommended for Bigsbys mounted on the Vibramate adapter plate or Bigsbys on Telecasters. For these applications look at the BTS5712VM which has 1.5mm less relief to compensate for the adapter plate and the unique geometry of the Telecaster.
If you like the idea of not having to thread your strings between the roller and axle attachment, consider the NEW BTS5712 2.0 which attaches with the new “Stub Axle” attachment screws
Most USA made Bigsbys have an axle retaining set screw on the bottom of the Bigsby. This pesky little set screw requires a 5/64″ Hex Key. If you need one, consider adding one to your order.
Also, consider adding a “Super Squishy” spring to your order. While not increasing tuning stability, it WILL increase your playing pleasure!
